INTRODUCTION
Hong Kong is famous for its iconic skyline, delicious food, and vibrant nightlife. However, apart from traditional Chinese culture, travellers found that the city lacked in other cultural experiences such as museums and heritage.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board has worked over the past decades to invigorate the city’s cultural offerings by creating new museums, cultural festivals, and revitalisation projects.
Now that the brand new West Kowloon Cultural District has been completed, they approached us to create a series highlighting art and culture in the city.
CHALLENGE
Art and culture are usually on most travellers’ to-do lists, but content surrounding culture is often less engaging.
We also needed to show diversity in the city’s cultural scene, moving away from just showcasing the latest museums, and creating a series that appeals to all types of art and culture enthusiasts.
SOLUTION: ART AND CULTURE EXPERIENCES
We created the Art and Culture Series to ensure diversity. It featured a wide range of artsy experiences, including a photography tour in the heritage-listed Tai Kwun, a mural art tour in the seaside town of Sai Kung, and a glimpse into new art-inspired Cantonese dishes at one of the trendy restaurants in Hong Kong’s SoHo district.
The series was published as an interactive experience, allowing viewers to curate their own art and culture journey in Hong Kong. This ensured that the audience could experience the cultural activities they were most interested in.
SOLUTION: IN-DEPTH AND PERSONAL
Like our other series, we made sure to create a program that goes beyond the surface. We developed longer-form content with television quality that delves deeper into each experience, enabling viewers to engage and truly understand the richness of each cultural encounter.
Another key feature was the inclusion of a different guest host in each segment. This allowed a diverse range of experts to join our main presenter, providing unique insights and fresh experiences to keep the videos both enjoyable and entertaining.
